Kampala, Uganda — June 24, 2026 — The High Court has ruled in favor of Deputy Inspector General of Government Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe in a defamation case against Dean Luboowa Saava, who operates the TikTok platform TV10 GANO MAZIMA, finding that statements published on the account were false and defamatory.

Justice Joyce Kavuma, presiding over Civil Suit No. 289 of 2025, said the evidence showed the posts were intended to damage Muhairwe’s reputation by portraying her as corrupt and unfit for public office.

The court granted a declaration that the statements were defamatory, issued a permanent injunction stopping further publications against Muhairwe, and ordered Saava to publish a public apology on the same TikTok platform.

It also awarded Muhairwe UGX 100 million in general damages, plus costs and interest. Saava did not enter appearance or file a defence despite being served, the court heard.
