Shs 6, 436, 458, 000 was robbed in 2021, the Annual Crime Report for 2021 shows.

This is in comparison to 2, 570, 934, 460 robbed in 2020. Figures show that the Police recovered Shs 450, 107, 000 Million in 2021, compared to 272, 526, 300 million recovered in 2020.

Data shows that 436 cases of aggravated robbery of cash were reported in 2021. 364 cases were reported to Police in 2020. This makes an increase in robbery cases by 19.7%. Kampala Metropolitan Police, Wamala Region and Kampala South (in that order) topped cases of aggravated robbery of cash.

In terms of districts/divisions; Kawempe, Mityana, Luweero, Kamuli, Kasangati, Nsangi, Nansana, Mbarara, Kyenjojo and Kagadi topped in cases of aggravated robbery of cash.

However, in general, crime increased in 2021 by 0.1% from 195, 931 in 2020 to 196, 081 the past year.
