Pamela Ruth Tumwebaze

A joint security task team investigating the murder of Tumwebaze Pamela, the Director of Student Affairs at Uganda Christian University (UCU), has arrested a key suspect in connection with the killing.

The suspect, identified as Taewaiko Dak Hussein, was arrested on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at his hideout in Budaka District.

According to preliminary police findings, Hussein was found in possession of property belonging to the deceased, which investigators describe as a critical piece of evidence linking him to the crime. Security sources further revealed that the suspect is a former house help who had previously worked for the late Tumwebaze.

Tumwebaze was brutally murdered earlier this week at her residence in Seeta, Mukono District, in a case that has shocked the UCU community and the wider public. Police have been pursuing multiple lines of inquiry, including theft-related motives and individuals with prior access to the victim’s home.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the killing are still ongoing, and authorities say additional suspects may be arrested as inquiries continue.

Security agencies have assured the public that more details will be released as investigations progress.
