The Rotary Club of Kampala Ssese Islands unveiled the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Dr. Samuel Stephen Kaziima Mugalu, as an honorary member of the club on Thursday evening.
This was at a gathering of Rotarians at Kati Kati Restaurant in Kampala.
Senior members of the club, including Works and Transport Minister Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala, witnessed the induction.
I.T. expert and Club President, Irene Nabayunga, said the Archbishop’s addition to the club is in a bid to do good in the world.
According to the club’s president, the Rotary Club of Kampala Ssese Islands will tap into the archbishop’s networks, reputation, personal projects like the boy child initiative, and the church in order to do better and bigger things together.
Gladys Namala Edwards, the club’s director for membership, said the archbishop comes with value and a brand.
“Rotary is a place for everyone,” said Gladys Namala Edwards.
According to Gladys Namala Edwards, the Archbishop said that the activities of Rotary Club of Kampala Ssese resonate well with his own.
