Give me the tractor, not the Cooperative – MP Paul Omara writes to NAADS

Selfish leader: A copy of a letter written in June 2023 to the National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) indicates that Otuke County Member of Parliament wrote to the Agency, blackmailing a Cooperative in his county in order to receive a government tractor.
Earlier, on March 17, 2023, the Cooperative had written to NAADS requesting for a tractor.
However, Omara in his June letter told NAADS that he be given the tractor to help open up acres of farmland in Loro, Oyam and in Bweyale, Kiryandongo.
The letter was received at the NAADS Secretariat on June 14, 2023.
In 2020, the government procured nearly 300 tractors under NAADS to help farmers engage in large-scale commercial crop production. The tractors were to be given to organized and registered farmer groups, associations or cooperatives in a given locality, who will manage them on business principles.
It is not clear, therefore, how an MP would ask for a tractor at the expense of a Cooperative in his Constituency.
