On July 28, 2026, Ugandans went to the polls to pick their LCI chairpersons. This happened across more than 71,000 villages in the country.
In Bamutakude village in Mukono, voters picked veteran journalist Solomon Serwanjja.
Just days into office, he has secured clean and safe water for his people.
Hours after his victory, Serwanjja paid a visit to Salam TV and Salam Charity Managing Director Hajji Kalisa to present his strategy for the development of Bamutakude Village in Mukono District. He also discussed possible partnership opportunities with Salam Charity on socio-economic development and self-sustainability trainings through the Smart Village Initiative.
At the end of that meeting, Salam Charity committed to support the people of Bamutakude with access to clean water.
”Together we shall make the difference in the lives of our people,” said Serwanjja.
