A maid working in the Central District of Kyankwanzi has killed her boss’ child and committed suicide. The incident occurred in Kanyogoga village, Watuba Sub County, Kyankwanzi district. 

The deceased maid has been identified as Rose Katusiime, 16. She was hired in January 2024 to take care of Ethan Kamanzi. However, yesterday, she disappeared with Kamanzi. Hours later, their bodies were retrieved from a nearby dam. 

Regional Police Spokesperson Rachael Kawala confirmed the incident. 

Preliminary findings indicate that Katusiime had earlier threatened to kidnap the child and drown it in a dam. This was after she was threatened with being taken back to her village in Butemba Town Council after it emerged that she had ecaped to look for a housekeeping job. 

Kawala says that the bodies have been examined and handed over to the families for burial.
