Kampala | November 7, 2025 — Telecommunications giant MTN Uganda has announced a second interim dividend of Shs 10.5 per share, amounting to a total payout of Shs235.08 billion, for the nine-month period ending September 30, 2025.
The dividend, which is subject to applicable withholding taxes, was approved by the Board of Directors on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, according to a notice signed by Company Secretary Enid Edroma.
The company confirmed that 22,389,044,239 ordinary shares were in issue at the time of the declaration.
In compliance with the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) Listing Rules 2025, the key dates for the dividend payment are as follows:
- Book Closure Date: Monday, December 1, 2025
- Dividend Payment Date: Friday, December 19, 2025
- Ex-Dividend Date: Wednesday, November 26, 2025
Accordingly, investors who purchase MTN Uganda shares on or before November 26, 2025 will qualify to receive the dividend, while those buying after that date will not be entitled to it.
MTN Uganda stated that the dividend will be paid electronically to shareholders’ bank accounts or mobile money wallets, in line with the company’s commitment to digital financial inclusion.
This latest declaration underscores MTN Uganda’s continued profitability and shareholder value delivery, following steady performance across its voice, data, and fintech segments.
