The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Diana Atwine, is leading a team of specialists in the United Kingdom.

Our sources say Dr. Atwine led the delegation to West Yorkshire & Leeds NHS Trusts during the Health Summit. During this time, Dr. Atwine is said to have interacted with medics in the U.K, who pledged to offer highly Specialised Medical Skills Training to Ugandan Nurses and Doctors via a Global Health Fellowship Programme.

Sources add that this programme will help increase the number of Specialists Medical Professionals in Uganda who would be able to support the Training of Trainers Programme supported by Uganda’s Ministry of Health.
