RIP: Rajiv Ruparelia
Businessman Sudhir Ruparelia and his wife, Jyotsna, have filed a petition for grant of probate of the estate of the late Rajiv Ruparelia.
Rajiv died in a road crash on May 3, 2025. He was 35.
However, in a petition to court through his lawyers of Walusimbi & Co. Advocates, Sudhir and his wife want a “grant of probate of the estate of the late Rajiv Ruparelia.”
A grant of probate means someone is formally requesting legal authority to manage and distribute the assets of a deceased person’s estate, according to their will. This process confirms the will’s validity and grants the executor named in the will the power to act on behalf of the estate. Without this grant, the executor cannot legally access the deceased’s assets or distribute them to beneficiaries.
Rajiv is survived by a wife, Naiya, and a daughter, Inara.

The deceased left behind a budding labor recruiting agency and apartments, among other businesses.
“The Court will proceed to grant the same if no caveat is lodged with this court within 14 days” from June 24, 2025.
During Rajiv’s funeral, Sudhir and his wife pledged to take care of the widow, including accomplishing a dream of setting up Inara Tower.
