The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has sensitised wholesalers, retailers, hardware operators, shop owners and depot operators in Fort Portal on the use of the Electronic Fiscal Receipting and Invoicing Solution (EFRIS), proper record-keeping and timely tax compliance.

In a post on X, URA said the engagement at Nyaika Hotel focused on EFRIS registration, service configuration, stocking items, tax filing and payment.

“With EFRIS, URA and the taxpayer will have the same records,” Benjamin Senfuka said, urging businesses to fiscalise their transactions to promote transparency, maintain accurate records and support correct tax declarations.

In Moroto, the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) conducted a sector-based tax education drive in Moroto District to train real estate operators including landlords and property managers on the Electronic Fiscal Receipting and Invoicing Solution (EFRIS).

URA officials emphasized that EFRIS is a business management tool rather than a new tax, explaining its practical benefits, registration process and rental income tax obligations to promote voluntary compliance.

Participants welcomed the initiative, stating that the practical session helped clear up misconceptions and demonstrated how EFRIS simplifies business management.
