With the country’s electoral body currently executing the roadmap leading to the 2026 general polls, Mukono South Constituency will be an area to look out for.
Incumbent Fred Kayondo of the National Unity Platform (NUP) is expected to face it rough as fresh blood eyes the same seat.
In trouble: Kayondo
Well-placed sources say Makerere University’s 89th Guild President, Robert Maseruka, has his eyes fixed on the constituency.
“By 2026, Maseruka will have graduated,” a source says.
Eyeing Mukono South MP seat: Robert Maseruka
Maseruka, like Kayondo, is an NUP follower, a party that saw him lead the University as Guild President.
It is not clear if there may be other interests in the seat. However, what we know now is that there are two candidates: Kayondo and Maseruka, with the former desiring to retain the seat.
