Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister, Norbert Mao has said that President Yoweri Museveni cannot be ignored while discussing the country’s political future.
“As a dominant player in the politics of Uganda, even in my discussions with other opposition leaders, I have always insisted that we cannot ignore President Museveni. He is like the mathematical pi. If you want to discover or solve some questions, for example, you must use the pi,” Mao, who doubles as the Democratic Party (DP) President General. told the New Vision in an interview recently.
According to Mao, “There are those who think that we can design the future of Uganda without Museveni.”
However, he adds that “I have always insisted that we need to engage him.”
“There are those who think that the only engagement is to throw him out of power and I have told them that you can throw him out of power, but you may set in motion a series of very chaotic trends. So, I can tell you that President Museveni is still a very critical actor in the politics of Uganda,” he said.
