The Uganda National Examinations Board (U.N.E.B.) has confirmed dates for exams for candidates repeating Uganda Certificate of Education (U.C.E.) exams.

Earlier, the exams were scheduled for the period from June/July 2024 to October/November 2024.

However, the U.N.E.B. Chairperson Prof. Celestino Obua says that the exams will now run alongside the 2024 Uganda Certificate of Education examination.

The registration period will also be the same as that for the 2024 examination, said Prof. Obua.
“Honorable Minister, you had further guided that candidates who had done the previous examination as USE candidates would be supported by government. The Board advises such persons to register from their previous USE schools ог any other USE examination centre that is convenient and can accommodate them. In addition to the categories of beneficiaries previously announced namely, those wishing to repeat the examination, those that had registered but missed the examination for various reasons, and those that had failed to register, the Board now includes those, whose results are withheld and may be cancelled. The Board wishes to clarify that the conditions for repeating the examination remain the same, main among which are that such persons use the Code for school candidates repeating the examination,” added Prof. Obua.

The candidates may register for one or more subjects, but not exceeding 10. According to Prof. Obua, the Board will maintain the same fees rates as in the previous examination; that is USh. 164,000/=.

“Further details will be issued in the Circular on registration about to be released to all examination centres and District Education offices throughout the country. I wish, on behalf of the Board, to appeal to heads of examination centres and schools, to accord whatever assistance. will be necessary to enable these persons to register, prepare for, and sit the examination. This is important, especially because this will be the last opportunity under the old UCE-Curriculum, under which they studied,” he added.
