RIP: Sseruwooza
BBS Telefayina journalist Joseph Sseruwooza has died following complications from an ulcer operation.
Sseruwooza, a popular presenter on the Mengo-based television station, is reported to have passed away at around 4:00am after the procedure failed. Details of the operation and his prior condition remained scanty by press time, but colleagues and leaders poured out tributes to the fallen journalist.
Fellow BBS TV staffer Peace Diana expressed shock at the news, saying, “I can’t even cry. This shock can’t allow me.” Another colleague, Rajab Bogere Kanakulya, described Sseruwooza as a “young, knowledgeable and passionate” media professional, adding, “You’ve gone too soon bro. RIP Joseph Sseruwooza.”
Kira Municipality MP George Musisi, who recently appeared on Sseruwooza’s show, also mourned his passing. “Two days ago I was hosted by my friend Joseph Sseruwooza, like he has done several times in the past on BBS TV. This morning we have received news of his passing. Very heartbreaking,” Musisi said, extending condolences to Sseruwooza’s family, his colleagues at BBS TV and the wider media fraternity.
Burial arrangements and further details about his final send-off were yet to be announced at the time of filing this report.
