Stephen Nuwagaba, who has been in the news lately, has issued a follow-up response to the one he released on Saturday morning. In this particular statement, he describes journalist Andrew Mwenda as a perpetual rumor-monger. He also suggests that the IDs published by Mwenda are fake and that everything being said about him is intended to tarnish his image.
The statement:
This is a very shallow response which begs to ask;
You create up unfounded allegations and you demand me to give answers? How do you ask me to tell you in what capacity was he meeting these individuals when he didn’t even meet them? And he just said that in his response asking proof of the allegations. This also begs to ask are our senior officers that vulnerable and incompetent that an impostor can access their offices, intimidate them, and walk away? You mean offices that house confidential reports don’t have enough security like cameras which would have maybe captured me in their offices? If there’s, why don’t you bring it out? Isn’t that evidence admissible in court? Then why are you screaming from here instead of going to court? You mean you don’t know why we have courts of law in this country?
The same people claiming he holds a fake IDF ID have attached a fake name to my passport number. In the story by Chimpreports you (Mwenda) claim my passport number is in the names of but this is my real passport, under the same number. So, are you trying to say our foreign affairs ministry is that incompetent that it can give out two names under one passport? If you had access to passport details, why didn’t you take a picture, why just words but not image of the real passport? Posting such personal information on the Internet isn’t it against the law? Who is violating the law here? Isn’t that forgery?

I pity people like you, Aiden, who have been paid to publish such information because I can sue you as an individual and those paying you peanuts to publish such nuisance will watch you rot in jail.
State House is a private residence of the president, not even around it’s gate do you find hawkers or mad people. So, let’s say stay in state house, which offence is there and under which law? Has president Museveni, the owner of that residence complained to you that I intruded into his home? If its not mere hatred or envy and jealousy why does that become an issue to deserve a whole publication? So a respected journalist like Mwenda has reduced himself to a rumour monger. I now understand what the president meant when he said their work is to move around spreading falsehood.
Guards
It’s the duty of the state to protect its citizens depending on the level of the threat against them and that is determined by the army, police commanders and the deploying authority. Having security or people walking around you is not a flex, it is for protection of life. Unless you have plans to harm him, or its just envy and jealousy why would you be concerned about me having security when every Ugandan has enough security from the state? Mind you there are over 13000 to 14000 security officers out there guarding Private citizens. Why are you so concerned about me? Doesn’t Mwenda have security? You mean all the 45 million Ugandans agree with him having that security? So why does your or his opinion about me having security become an issue of national emergency that you sermon the CDF, the President and everyone on earth? Is it because you have familiarized them now you think you can order them around to serve your ego and intrigue? And mind you these are the same people you take photos with all the time to show power but come to scream on social media even hiring individuals to push your articles and you as Aiden can’t see an ill-intend here?
One thing is clear here you’re trying hard to portray the president as incompetent and running a failed system the same things Mwenda has been saying in the media and in an article that later he had to apologise to the President. Imagine such an experienced journalist claiming he had written the story without hearing from Magola. Totally against the principles of journalism and natural justice. We can all agree even the apology was not honest, it was just out of fear of the President. If one is to look deeper these are subliminal attacks aimed at the President and the state. It’s no surprise your first concern was why is Steven honouring the president. You were the other day accusing an officer of harming Kasirye of NUP. Imagine! Can you prove that in court? The greed for money is the end of man.
