Entebbe Zoo: New entry fees structure out ahead of new Financial Year

Entebbe Zoo has announced new entry fees to improve visitor experience and support animal welfare efforts.

Effective 1st July 2024, the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre (UWEC) will be adjusting its entry fees to enhance visitor experience and support animal welfare efforts. The announcement was made today in a press briefing held at the wildlife centre.

The revisions to the entry fees are aimed at ensuring the continued care of UWEC’s diverse animal species, while also improving the overall experience of visitors. Dr. James Musinguzi explained that the decision to adjust the fees was not an easy one, but it was necessary due to the changing costs of animal food, fuel, and other overheads.

“These adjustments reflect our commitment to providing exceptional care for our animals, maintaining a world-class facility, and supporting vital conservation education initiatives,” Dr. James Musinguzi added. It is worth noting that UWEC has not increased entry fees for Ugandan and East African visitors in over 10 years. The rates for international visitors have been adjusted in the past, both before and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

UWEC is open daily from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, and visitors are welcome to enjoy the diverse range of animal species and conservation education programs.
