Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba
The Chief of Defense Forces (CDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has apologized to his uncle/Presidential Advisor of Security, Gen. RTD. Caleb Akandwanaho, alias Salim Saleh.
In the past days, Gen. Muhoozi and the UPDF as a whole have accused the ambassador of Germany to Uganda, Mathias Schauer, of subversion.
This also followed a recent visit to Gulu, from where the European Union team appealed to Gen. Saleh to address Muhoozi’s posts on X. During the meeting, Gen. Saleh pledged to address the matter, although he was not sure if the CDF would listen.
In a post on X on Monday evening, Gen. Muhoozi said:
“Out of respect for my great uncle, Afande Saleh, I shall not mention Germany or bazungu again. I want to apologize to Afande Saleh if I disobeyed him in any way. Nisamehe Afande.”
