The Njeru Police Station and Jinja Police Division are actively searching for Edward David Galabaya, also known as Bukule, who is wanted in connection with serious sodomy-related offences.
According to police records, Galabaya is linked to case file GEF 015/2021 at Njeru Police and case file 2010/08/2018 at Jinja Police Division.
A police statement reveals that on August 8th and 14th, 2018, in Naminya Village, Njeru Municipality, Buikwe District, Galabaya is alleged to have coerced, threatened, or offered benefits to one Bagenda Ashraf, who had gone to perform casual work at his residence. It is alleged that Galabaya unlawfully and unnaturally engaged in acts of sodomy with the victim.
Further information indicates that Galabaya was arrested in 2018 over similar charges at Jinja Police Station but was released on police bond and has been on the run since.
Recent developments suggest that Edward Galabaya had been residing in Canada, from where he was reportedly deported or is in the process of deportation.
According to SCP Fred Enanga, the former Police Spokesperson, Edward Galabaya is actively wanted in connection with the above offences.
The Uganda Police Force is appealing to the public: Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Edward Galabaya is urged to report immediately to the nearest police station or local leaders or call the official police numbers provided.
