I can serve anywhere, but not in politics – Gen. Kale Kayihura

Former Inspector General of Police (IGP), Gen. Kale Kayihura, has said that he is not into politics.
The four-star army general had a Thanksgiving ceremony at Saaza grounds in Kisoro town yesterday after he was acquitted of any wrongdoing by the general court martial.
While delivering his speech, he said he can serve anywhere else but not in politics.
Gen. Kayihura hails from Nyakabande in Bufumbira East. The constituency is currently represented in the 11th Parliament by Dr. James Nsaba Buturo.
Gen. Kayihura said that he has never had political ambitions and that now that he is retired, the goal is to concentrate on farming.
He says that he fears elections due to what the politicians go through, saying that when he was IGP, he used to see the hardships that the politicians would go through, so he is not ready.
“I fear elections. I am not into politics. When I was in IGP, I used to see what politicians were going through. I will never contest for a political seat. I am available to serve anywhere, but not in politics,“ said Gen. Kayihura.
