Teams take part in the Ghetto Youth Football tournament.
The leadership of the Ghetto Structure and State House, coordinated by the Uganda Police and Director of Crime Intelligence Maj. Gen. Damulira Christopher, in collaboration with ghetto youth leaders in Makindye-Sabagabo, on Tuesday, 15th September 2026, launched a football tournament at Zana Kunya under the theme, “Promoting Talent and Fitness in the Fight Against Crime in the Ghettos.”
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to improve the lives of young people living in ghettos across the country. More than 40 teams from different zones are taking part in the tournament, competing for a trophy and other prizes.

Organisers said the tournament is intended to promote unity, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence, while also encouraging the fight against crime and advocating for government recognition of ghetto communities.
The programme will further sensitise young people about the dangers of drug abuse and lawlessness, while strengthening cooperation between ghetto structures and law-enforcement agencies in preventing crime.
The tournament will run from 15th to 20th September. The quarter-finals are scheduled for 19th September, while the final will be played on 20th September at the Zana Kunya playgrounds.
All ghetto youth and well-wishers have been invited to attend and support the initiative.
