Kampala — Police in Natete Division are investigating a case of attempted murder following a violent domestic incident in Busega, Rubaga Division, in which a 29-year-old male marketer with Double Q was severely injured. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at about 2:00 a.m., according to Kampala Metropolitan Police.
The victim, a resident of Busega Parish and a salesman/marketer with Double Q, was allegedly stabbed multiple times by his wife, identified only as Joy, during a domestic altercation.
Police say the victim sustained deep cuts and serious head injuries. The landlord reportedly raised the alarm after learning of the attack, while a friend rushed the injured man to Rubaga Hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.
Responding officers visited the scene and found suspected blood stains on the floor, walls, and clothing inside the house. A panga, believed to have been used in the attack, was also recovered from the premises.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the couple had lived together for about two years and have a nine-month-old child. Police further revealed that the suspect allegedly abandoned the baby with the victim on January 1, 2026, days before the incident.
The suspect fled the scene and remains on the run. Police say efforts are ongoing to trace, arrest, and prosecute her.
In a statement, Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson SP Racheal Kawala urged the public to acknowledge that men are also victims of domestic violence.
“Men suffer equally from domestic violence, just as women do. We encourage all victims to speak up, seek help, and utilize the Child and Family Protection Units available at all police stations,” she said.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
