Daudi Kabanda
Kasambya County Member of Parliament Daudi Kabanda has returned to school to pursue a degree in law, in a move that marks a new step in his academic journey.
For a long time, Kabanda held a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), a qualification that his critics often used to question his academic background and undermine his political rise. However, the legislator appears determined to expand his education and has reportedly enrolled at Uganda Pentecostal University, where he is pursuing a law degree.
Kabanda’s decision to return to school comes after he had already established himself as a prominent figure in Uganda’s political arena. Despite his modest academic qualifications, he has continued to rise through the ranks and occupy influential positions, including serving as Secretary General of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU).
His return to university is likely to attract public attention, particularly because of the criticism he has faced over his education. By pursuing a law degree, Kabanda appears to be responding to his critics while also strengthening his academic credentials alongside his political career.
The development highlights the growing importance Ugandan politicians attach to academic qualifications, especially as they seek to advance their careers and take on more influential leadership roles.
