Roads construction giant Dott Services Ltd has been caught up in multi-billion-dollar deals linked to Odrek Rwabwogo in South Sudan. Rwabwogo is President Museveni’s son-in-law and the chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development.
Earlier this year, CDF Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba commissioned an anti-corruption initiative targeting corrupt public officials. Former Speaker Anita Among was among the first to be affected by the drive.
The probe has now extended to Rwabwogo. As part of the investigation into PACEID operations, Rwabwogo’s aide Matthew Bagonza was arrested on Tuesday and remains in detention.
Dealings linked to Rwabwogo in South Sudan have now been exposed.
According to documents seen by this publication, two companies — Ranway Petroleum Co. Limited and Tomosi Farm Bwesharrire Limited — all linked to Rwabwogo reportedly supplied “classified materials” worth US$147,187,404, including fuel, lubricants and other military spare parts. Other supplies included helicopter spare parts and other military equipment worth US$14,800,000.
Also caught up in the scandal is Dott Services. According to the same document, Dott Services was contracted to build houses worth US$28,390,664.
It is not clear what Rwabwogo’s relationship with Dott Services is. However, during the Anita Among probe, Dott Services was linked to the procurement of a Shs 3.5 billion Rolls Royce for the former speaker. The car remains seized as part of the probe against the Bukedea Woman MP.
