A number of prominent people have passed on over the 4-day Easter holiday.
These persons died under different circumstances. Prominent among them is Pope Francis. He died on Monday. He was 88.
Back home, Uganda lost a budding wildlife photographer, Saad Byakuleka, alias Saad Shots. Saad died on Friday in a motor accident. He was laid to rest on Sunday in Kazo.
On Sunday, news broke of the death of veteran NRRA leader Maj. RTD. John Kazoora. Details of his death remain scanty. However, his son, and events MC, JK Kazoora, confirmed his father’s death.

Meanwhile, the basketball fraternity is mourning the death of Michael Makumbi. He died in Canada on Monday. Makumbi represented the nation in the FIBA U23 3X3 Nations League last year. “We mourn and send our condolences to the deceased’s family. May his soul rest in peace,” said FUBA in a statement on Monday.

Suspended Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Julius Ahimbisibwe is dead. His body was found dead on Monday at his residence in Kyengera Town Council, in what authorities suspect to be a case of suicide.
His body was discovered in a septic tank in the compound of his home.

Ahimbisibwe had been suspended from duty following a serious domestic violence incident that occurred in March 2024, during which he allegedly shot his ex-wife.
