Director of Crime Intelligence, Uganda Police Force, AIGP Major General Christopher Damulira on Thursday launched the Rubaga Tuk-Tuk Sacco, urging riders to follow Ebola health guidelines and praising the Sacco model for enhancing discipline, security, and economic empowerment among operators.
He also commended boda boda riders for arresting Obed, a suspect in the murder of Sydney Gongodyo, and handing him to police, highlighting this as an example of improved cooperation between transport operators and government.
Gen. Damulira reiterated government’s commitment to supporting transport Saccos that promote safety and order, emphasizing their role in strengthening public security and community trust.
