Kampala—Eleven suspects accused in the murder of former rugby star Sydney Gongodyo are set to appear in court this morning. The suspects, along with others still at large, are alleged to have participated in the mob killing of Gongodyo last Friday.
The late rugby player was laid to rest on Tuesday in Sironko. Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Rachael Kawala confirmed that the suspects are scheduled to appear before the City Hall Court today, June 12, 2026, at approximately 11:00 a.m.
The case has attracted significant public attention as investigations continue and the hunt for additional suspects remains ongoing.
