The family of Kakaire Jonah Moses, a 28-year-old former chef at Pastor Kakande’s Temple Mount Church in Kubiri, is seeking a formal investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Kakaire died on October 1, 2026, under circumstances that remain unclear. Sources said he was struck and killed by a faulty lift at the church premises, although the exact sequence of events has not been officially established.

He was quietly buried on October 4 in Mayuge, according to family sources. A brother who returned from the burial the following day reportedly asked police to investigate how Kakaire died and establish whether negligence or other factors contributed to the incident.

A General Enquiry File was subsequently opened at Wandegeya Police Station, sources said. The file is expected to guide inquiries into the reported lift malfunction, the events leading to Kakaire’s death and the actions taken after the incident.

However, attempts to establish the progress of the investigation have so far been unsuccessful. Police have not issued a formal statement explaining whether officers visited the scene, recorded statements from witnesses or examined the lift involved.

The lack of an official account has heightened concerns among Kakaire’s relatives, who want the circumstances surrounding his death clarified. The family is also seeking answers about why he was buried shortly after his death and whether the relevant authorities were notified in time to conduct a full inquiry.

As of publication, neither Wandegeya Police Station nor officials at Temple Mount Church had publicly responded to questions about the reported incident. The family continues to press for a comprehensive investigation and an explanation of what led to Kakaire’s death.
