PLU has demanded an apology from The Observer newspaper, accusing it of false reporting over a story that claimed the group had sought Shs 1.5 billion from Parliament to distribute Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s book.
In a Tuesday statement, PLU said the report was “very false news,” insisting that it “has not requested Parliament for any money,” and adding: “we don’t want it and we don’t need it.”
The Observer had reported that the publication, 52 Dimensions, produced under PLU’s auspices to mark Gen Muhoozi’s 52nd birthday, would be printed in more than 200,000 copies for free distribution to schools, universities, libraries and other public learning centres.
PLU General Secretary Twalla Fadil said the organization wants “reporting based on facts and not misleading statements,” adding: “WE DEMAND AN APOLOGY.”
