Thousands of posters belonging to President Yoweri Museveni were reportedly destroyed in Kireka, Namugongo, Kira, Wakiso District, on Wednesday morning, September 16, 2026.
Residents of Kamuli C woke up to find the posters torn down, damaged and scattered across the area. Some of the posters had also been burnt. It remains unclear who was responsible for destroying them, and no group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
Kireka, and Wakiso District more broadly, is considered an area with strong support for the Opposition. However, there is no confirmed link between the destruction of the posters and Opposition supporters. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.
