Wu presenting his credentials to Adonia Ayebare on Friday
China has sent a new ambassador to Uganda, with H.E. Wu Guangrong, Ambassador-designate of the People’s Republic of China at the Chinese Embassy in Uganda, on Friday presenting copies of his Letters of Credence to Hon. Amb. Adonia Ayebare, Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kampala.
“The engagement underscores the longstanding bonds of friendship and cooperation between Uganda and China and the importance of continued high-level diplomatic engagement in advancing bilateral relations and shared interests,” said Ayebare.
Wu replaces Zhang Lizhong, who concluded his four-year tenure and departed for China in January 2026.
