Businessman and philanthropist Geofrey Mugisha has thrown his hat in the ring as the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party seeks new leaders to take up seats for the 2025-2030 period.
The Rubaga NRM youth boss formally submitted his bid at the NRM Electoral Commission headquarters on Monday, June 30, 2025, in a move to represent the youth in the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the NRM as the Youth League Chairperson, National.

A time has come for us to redefine the course of the revolution.
40 years ago, our fathers and grandfathers marched into the empty and dilapidated streets of Kampala and declared a new era.
Over 37 million people weren’t born yet. We are here to represent these 37 million. To not only listen but also act. The revolution will be shaped by the voices, hopes, and prayers of the young people. This is an NRM where no one will be left behind.
Our fathers and grandfathers waged a guerilla war in 1981, with the hope and conviction that they had the power to change the course of the nation for the better.
Today, we stand on the same grounds, with the same hope and conviction that the next 40 years of every Ugandan are secured. With faith that no Ugandan will ever feel left behind.

On top of being a youth leader in Rubaga, Mugisha is the founder of Amka Foundation Africa, an indigenous NGO giving hope to the young people in the division. He also deals in cattle trade, beef, and high-end furniture, among others. These, on top of sitting on boards of fast-rising businesses and organizations.
