President Yoweri Museveni has swapped Dr Jane Ruth Aceng and Justine Kasule Lumumba in his latest cabinet adjustment.
In a list released days ago, Museveni had appointed Lumumba as Government Chief Whip (GCW). However, it has since emerged that because she is not a Member of Parliament, she cannot hold that position.
Sources now say Lumumba has been moved to the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, while Dr Aceng, who had initially been appointed ICT minister, has been reassigned to the Office of the Prime Minister as Government Chief Whip.
“Thank you H.E. @KagutaMuseveni for redeploying me to the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance. I am honored by the trust and ready to serve with dedication towards Uganda’s digital transformation agenda,” Lumumba posted.
