A lecturer at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) has died in a road crash.
The incident occurred on Tuesday in Mayuge.
The university has confirmed the incident in a brief message.
“The school administration with great sadness announces the death of Mr. Joseph Kasango, an assistant lecturer in the Department of Marketing and Management at the MUBS Jinja campus. Mr. Kasango passed away yesterday, Tuesday, December 24, 2024, in a road accident in Mayuge District.”

Burial arrangements are yet to be communicated.
Reports indicate that in Uganda, more than 10 lives are lost to road crashes daily. In the year 2021 alone, the Uganda Police Force (UPF) reported 4,159 road crash fatalities and 12,589 serious injuries (Ministry of Works and Transport, 2021).
