Kampala — MTN Uganda has announced new tariffs for payments made by customers to small businesses and for merchant-to-merchant transactions, effective August 15, 2025.
The telecom giant says the adjustment is part of ongoing efforts to promote financial inclusion by making digital payments more accessible and affordable.
Under the revised structure, sending UGX 1–2,500 will remain at UGX 100. Transactions between UGX 2,501–5,000 will cost UGX 300, while those between UGX 5,001–10,000 will cost UGX 500. Payments in the UGX 10,001–30,000 range will be charged UGX 1,000, and UGX 30,001–60,000 will cost UGX 1,500. Transactions between UGX 60,001 and UGX 500,000 will be charged UGX 2,000.

The company urged customers to familiarise themselves with the new tariffs to avoid inconvenience and reaffirmed its commitment to making digital transactions easier and more inclusive.
