School shamba boy arrested for defiling 8 pupils in one year

A shamba boy at Ekitangala Primary School in Kakooge, Nakasongola, is in police custody for aggravated defilement.
The suspect has been identified as Peter Mayanja.
Savannah Region Police Spokesman confirmed the arrest.
According to Sam Twineamaziima, the suspect allegedly defiled pupils between the ages of 7 and 13 years old.
The incidents happened between 2023 and July 2024 at Mayanja’s residence located within the school premises.
However, the matter recently leaked to the school administration.
On July 24, 2024, Mayanja was called in to defend his position. This was after the victims confessed to suffering sexual abuse at the hands of Mayanja.
Twineamaziima says that all victims were examined and Mayanja detained at Kakooge Police Station over aggravated defilement.
