Police in Buikwe District are investigating a violent incident of aggravated robbery and kidnapping following an attack on the home of Dr. Moses Mbuga Ndiwalana in Naminya Cell, Kiira Zone, Njeru Division.
The incident occurred on the night of November 27, 2025, at around 11:30 pm. According to police, Dr. Ndiwalana, 37, had just returned home when a masked gunman ambushed him as he parked his vehicle. The assailant reportedly held him, his watchman Byaruhanga Michael, his wife, and a maid at gunpoint before ordering them into the house.
Inside, the attacker robbed the family of Shs1,650,000 and abducted the couple’s six-year-old daughter, Nankya Kaira Mbuga, before fleeing the scene.
The Police Spokesperson for Ssezibwa Region, SP Hellen Butoto, confirmed that a search operation is underway to recover the child and track down the attacker.
“Our teams are actively following all leads to ensure the victim is safely recovered and the perpetrator is apprehended,” SP Butoto noted.
Police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity as investigations intensify.
