Three people have died and one person was injured following a single-vehicle crash along the Mpala section of the Kampala–Entebbe Expressway.
According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred earlier on Friday when the vehicle, which was travelling from Masaka towards Entebbe International Airport, veered off the road.
Authorities say the driver is suspected to have dozed off due to fatigue after a long-distance journey, leading to the crash.
Three occupants died at the scene, while another person sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
An incident response team responded to the scene and worked together with police to secure the area and manage traffic along the expressway.
Authorities have extended condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured victim a quick recovery.
Motorists have also been urged to rest adequately before undertaking long-distance journeys, avoid driving while fatigued, and observe speed limits to prevent similar accidents.
