A senior police officer has collapsed and died in office.

The officer has been identified as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Darlington Eiru. The deceased was in charge of the clock tower. 

The police have yet to issue an official statement.

However, a communication this news site has seen indicates that Eiru was in office this morning when he collapsed.

Attempts to rush him to Nsambya Hospital proved futile, as he was pronounced dead on arrival at the facility. 

By press time, burial arrangements were ongoing.
