Major streets in Kampala were littered with protests on Tuesday against the administration of the 11th Parliament of Uganda.
Protesters called for the resignation of Speaker of Parliament Anita Among.
However, security was on high alert. Over 60 people were reportedly arrested.
Although protesters called out Speaker Among, she remained silent on the matter.
The Bukedea Woman Member of Parliament did not show up at Parliament on Tuesday. Her deputy, Thomas Tayebwa, chaired the Tuesday session of Parliament.
Speaker Among was reportedly in her constituency as demonstrators called for her resignation.
In Parliament, her deputy, Tayebwa, ensured that not much was discussed about the protests and corruption.
