2026 POLLS: Bobi Wine Anoints Muhammad Nsubuga for Kawempe South MP seat
By Executive Editor
With the pressure for the 2026 general elections building up, it appears the leadership of the National Unity Platform (NUP) has endorsed one of their own, Muhammad Nsubuga, for the Kawempe South MP seat.

The constituency is currently represented in the 11th Parliament by Bashir Kazibwe.
Although Kazibwe was active prior to getting the NUP card in 2021, it looks like he went silent on both the party and his voters.
As a result, Nsubuga has been on the ground to fill in for Kazibwe, providing an ambulance, among other support for the constituency.
An ambulance Nsubuga donated to Kawempe South constituency to help with emergencies.
It is not clear if Kazibwe will seek a return to the August House on another ticket.
However, whether he chooses to contest or not, analysts argue that Nsubuga is fast winning the hearts of Kawempe South voters.
