Exclusive: Thugs attack Minister Ssekindi’s residence

By Sam Mwesigye

Unidentified people have attacked the resident of the Minister of State for Water and Environment, Hon. Aisha Ssekindi.

The incident occurred on October 7, 2024, at her upcountry residence in Bugomola, Lwabenge, in Kalungu district.

Preliminary findings indicate that the assailants gained access into the house after breaking the windows at 2 a.m. using house break-in equipment and entered the master bedroom where Hon. Ssekindi’s husband, Asiimwe Mahad Kiwanuka, 52, was sleeping. Unfortunately, a police report reads, “He managed to leave unhurt and made an alarm alerting other people in the house, and thus the assailants took off; nothing known yet was stolen.”

Hon. Sekindi was not at home at the time the incident occurred.

By press time, the matter (attempted robbery) was being investigated via CRB/420/2024 of Kalungu.
