U.N. in Uganda: Susan Namondo heads to Tanzania
The outgoing U.N. Resident Coordinator in Uganda, Susan Namondo, is heading to Tanzania, this news site has learned.
In her farewell speech on Wednesday, Namondo said she enjoyed her time in Uganda and that she is hopeful that she will use what she learned while here during her role going forward.
Namondo’s official work in Uganda ends on October 31, 2024.
Namondo took up her assignment as the UN Resident Coordinator in Uganda in June 2021.
Prior to that, she was the UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Eritrea (2017-2021) and also served as UNICEF Representative in Ghana (2013-2017).

Namondo was assigned as UNICEF Representative in Comoros (2010-2013) and Deputy Representative in Liberia (2008-2010).

From 2006-2008, she was an Emergency Programme Specialist in New York and during 2005, she served as an Emergency Project Officer with UNICEF in Nairobi, Kenya.
In 2004, Susan was an Emergency Officer in Malakal with UNICEF Sudan, after she worked in South Sudan as a Resident Project Officer in Rumbek (2001-2002) and Lokichoggio (2000-2001).
Before this assignment, Susan was a Consultant with IFAD in Rome, Italy (2000).
