Loan scheme: Beneficiary grateful to HESFB

A beneficiary of the loan scheme under the Higher Education Students Financing Board (HESFB), the one-stop center for Higher Education Financing in Uganda, for granting him a study loan.
Anthony Wasike, a year one student of Medicine and Surgery at Kampala International University (KIU) Western Campus says “this is a lifetime opportunity”
He is among the many beneficiaries across the country, after the first lot of the list of beneficiaries was released on 10.01.2022.
“I am really grateful to HESFB for granting me this loan. I can now fully concentrate on my studies and achieve my dream of being a medical doctor,” Wasike says and adds: “I have always had the dream of serving my country in this capacity (medical doctor) and now that I have got this opportunity, there is nothing that can deter me, God willing.”
Wasike is required to report to school immediately.
The Higher Education Students’ Financing Board (HESFB) is a statutory body established by The Higher Education Students’ Financing Act, No. 2 of 2014 with a mandate to provide Loans and Scholarships to Ugandan students seeking to pursue Higher Education.
