Rugby: Players injured in VP Alupo’s Mabira accident named

Rugby players earlier involved in an accident at Mabira have been identified.

The injured are Museme Faith Bahati, Mufuwa Mercy, Nadunga Ritah, Akweru Nancy, Babirye Salamu Siida, Acanit Hellen 16 and Kokoi Christine.

They were injured after a commuter taxi (UBF 720Y) they were traveling in for a game in Kampala collided with the lead car (UP 0294) of Vice President Jessica Alupo.

It’s alleged that the taxi overtook two motor vehicles that were both climbing in an overtaking lane and collided with the Mitsubishi Pajero that was opening way for the VP on her way to Kibuuku.

The driver of the Hiace abandoned the wreckage of the vehicle and remains on the run.

Both vehicles have been parked at Mabira Police station for inspection by IOV.

VP Alupo has pledged support for the players to see to it that they fully recovery from the injuries obtained from the accident.
