A senior army officer identified as Lt. Col. Charles Omara Abeni has this evening collapsed and died in his bathroom.

The incident happened at Omara’s residence in Akia, Lira City.

Family sources say he was rushed to Lira Regional Referral Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

By press time, the army was yet to issue an official statement.
