Health Minister Dr. Jane Aceng has re-echoed the need for a booster dose Covid-19 vaccine.
This as the COVID-19 situation keeps evolving.
“The importance and effectiveness of a booster dose vaccine becomes more relevant than ever,” Dr. Aceng tweeted Friday. “We need to protect those 50 years and above, those with co-morbidities and everybody. Let’s get vaccinated/boosted & consistently wear face masks.”
In the meantime, Dr. Aceng says “avoid mass gatherings as these are potential super spreader events.”
“The omicron variant prevalence is now low, and may be mild, but causes severe disease and death for those with underlying risks,” Dr. Aceng said.
As of May 31, 2022, there was one case of Covid-19 reported out of the samples tested the previous day.
