There is a somber mood at Makerere University’s College of Health Sciences and Mitchell Hall following the death of Edgar Nsumba.

Nsumba lost battle to anaemia last evening at Platinum Hospital in Kampala.

“Friends, tragedy hit home last night. My young brother lost his battle to sickle cell anemia a few hours after finishing his final paper in Med school at MUK. That horrible disease! I’m numb, my heart has been ripped from my chest, my chest,” his brother Paul Trevor Kigozi tweeted earlier.

Emmanuel Aupal, a student of Makerere University and a close friend, says Nsumba was a peace maker.

“Most Recent serving off campus minister. Loved by many. Served diligently, Made Peace with everyone. Sadly He never lived to fulfill His Dream of being a Medical Doctor .Actually most of his medical friends had gone to Galloway,” Aupal says.
