Crossing within EAC countries should be cost free – Museveni

By An Executive Editor

President Yoweri Museveni has said that crossing within the East African countries should not attract visas.

The President was commissioning the Mpondwe One Stop Border Post and the Mpondwe-Lhubiriha Border Export Zone in Kasese District when he said that “Our people here complained that they are being charged to cross to DRC to do business, this is rubbish!”

He noted that “Crossing within East African countries should be cost-free with no visas required.”

“You pay for a visa when going to America, or Europe but a visa to DRC! If that has been the case, therefore, I have REMOVED it,” the President said.
