I’ll narrate my torture in another book – Kakwenza
By Marvin Ocol
Even when the Judiciary tagged his freedom to silence (not talk about his detention and torture), novelist and activist Rukira Kakwenza has vowed to narrate his torture in a nother book.
Kakwenza was arrested at the end of 2021 over offensive communication, following a series of tweets in which he mentioned President Yoweri Museveni and his son Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
He, was, however, released barely a week ago, with one of the conditions being that he does not talk about the case.
But already, the 2021 award winner of PEN Prize for international writer of courage and Author: The Greedy Barbarian and Banana Republic has given media interviews, narrating his ordeal in the hands of his captors.
In a tweet 3 days ago, Kakwenza pledged to narrate his torture in a new book.
It’s called defiance, opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) strongman and founder, Dr. Kizza Besigye quoted Kakwenza’s tweet.
